#EdAH Project kick-off press conference
On 10 June 2025, the Potocki Palace hosted the kick-off press conference for the project ‘Educational-Artistic Horizons Without Borders’ (EdAH), which is being implemented as part of the Interreg NEXT Romania-Ukraine 2021-2027 Programme.
Deputy Mayor Sviatoslav Nykorovych and Director of the Department of Investment Policy, Projects, International Relations, Tourism and Promotion of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council Ihor Popadiuk addressed the participants with welcoming remarks. Lidiia Cherevko, Head of the Project Implementation Office, spoke about the details of the project, its activities and expected results, while Volodymyr Haidar, Director of the of Municipal Enterprise “Space of Innovative Creations ‘Palace”, shared more details about the equipment that will be purchased as part of the project and its intended use. The event was also attended by Alona Karavay, co-founder of the NGO ‘Insha Osvita’ (Alternative Education), who spoke about the main activities at the school of contemporary art.
The main goal of the EdAH project is to modernise the infrastructure of vocational education and improve equal access to quality services in the field of lifelong vocational education by equipping one school in Botosani and one school in Ivano-Frankivsk with high-performance equipment designed for arts education, as well as by improving the professional qualifications of 13 teaching and non-teaching staff. Key project activities:
- purchase of drawing equipment, IT equipment and musical equipment and accessories for the George Enescu School of Folk Art in Botosani and the School of Contemporary Art in Ivano-Frankivsk;
- organisation of 5 workshops (2 online and 3 offline) in Botosani and Ivano-Frankivsk;
- Master classes with invited artists who are proficient in traditional techniques and classes with digital artists;
- Classes on how to use the digital art equipment purchased under the project;
- Organization of exhibitions of 3D models and sculptures, their digital and natural interpretations, and a virtual exhibition of visual artworks using virtual and augmented reality;
- An ‘International Art Forum’ in Ivano-Frankivsk, which will be dedicated to the latest approaches and techniques in contemporary art, digital visual art, the mutual ‘dialogue’ between digital and manual techniques, conceptual art, and the development of critical thinking among artists;
- A round table discussion with invited artists and school students to discuss the results of the work and the knowledge and skills acquired.
The total budget of the project is EUR 364,524.94, of which EUR 328,072.45 is funded by the European Union under the Interreg Next Romania-Ukraine 2021-2027 programme. The budget for Ivano-Frankivsk is EUR 179,200.94, which will be used to support the city's artistic activities. The project partners are Botoșani County (Romania) and the Executive Committee of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council, with Botoșani County acting as the lead partner.
The EdAH project will contribute to the development of Ivano-Frankivsk, nurture artistic talent and potentially attract students and visitors from other regions. It may also stimulate the creative economy and produce skilled artists and designers who can contribute to the regional cultural and economic landscape.
