Powiat Nowosolski is a county in the Lubusz Voivodeship, Poland. The county was established in 1999 after the administrative-territorial reform. The area of the county is 770.58 km2. Population: 86,794 people.
The center of the county is the town of Nowa Sól (Polish: Nowa Sól, German: Neusalz an der Oder), located in western Poland on the river Oder.
The county consists of:
- cities: Nowa Sól, Bytom-Odzhanski, Kozhukhiv, Nove Myastechko;
- city gminas: Nowa Sól;
- urban-rural gminas: Bytom Odrzański Commune, Kozhuchów Commune, Nowe Miastechko Commune;
- rural communes: Kolsko Commune, Nowa Sól Commune, Otyn Commune, Siedlisko Commune.
Ivano-Frankivsk has been cooperating with the Novosolsk County of Poland for a long time. The closest cooperation was in the field of education: seven agreements were signed between educational institutions (schools) of both parties. In 2007, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Department of Education and Science of the Executive Committee of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council (Ukraine) and the Social Department of the County Council in Nowa Sól (Poland). During 2009-2011 there was a regular exchange of students and teachers.
