Program: Polish aid
Partners: Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Lviv and Executive Committee of Ivano-Frankivsk City Council
Budget: for Ivano-Frankivsk: 26 thousand euros
The project "Improvement of living and integration conditions of refugees from the territories directly affected by Russian aggression against Ukraine, in the centers for internally displaced persons in the Ivano-Frankivsk community" was realised jointly by the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Lviv and the Executive committee of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council. Funding of more than 26 thousand euros was provided by the Ministry of International Affairs of the Republic of Poland under the Polish Help Program.
The project aimed to create a comfortable environment for IDPs, which were forced to leave their homes and in need of material and psychological support, by providing such persons with adequate living conditions and opportunities for integration into the local community. For this purpose, the community was repaired, and the Polish side provided the necessary equipment with the necessary inventory of the collective center of IDPs in the Ivano-Frankivsk community located in the houses at the Bandera street. In particular, the purchase of kitchen equipment (refrigerators, electric stoves, electric kettles), household appliances (washing machines, drying machines), boilers, laptops for the teaching of children, portable heaters and power generators was carried out. The Polish side also financed a series of integration meetings of the local population with IDPs with the involvement of a professional psychotherapist, who were used by modeled board games. Each meeting lasted at least 3 hours. For a period of 2 months, people were able to show their strengths and establish communication with each other. The sessions were also intended to encourage people to work in a team and acquire anti-crisis management skills, and participants were able to show their leadership skills. The psychotherapist also had the opportunity to identify persons who needed individual psychological help.
