Project to support internally displaced persons launched

2022.11.21

On November 19th, a series of integration meetings for internally displaced persons began as part of the Project "Improving Living Conditions and Integration of Refugees from Territories Directly Affected by Russian Aggression Against Ukraine, in Centers for Internally Displaced Persons in the Ivano-Frankivsk Community" under the "Polish Aid" Program. The first event took place in a warm and lively atmosphere.

It is important that people who were forced to relocate to Ivano-Frankivsk from cities where combat operations are taking place feel comfortable and safe, and have the support of the city residents and each other. One of the tools that helps achieve this desired goal is board games.

Games contribute to improving memory and cognitive functions, reducing the risk of mental illnesses, reducing stress, faster reaction and problem-solving, and goal-orientation.

Games help develop logical and mental abilities, stimulate critical and spatial thinking - important aspects of brain development. Board games are very helpful in learning, developing, and improving social and communication skills.

Games also help people get to know each other better. That is why we have planned a series of meetings with IDPs and local residents, during which board games moderated by a psychologist will take place.

The project "Improving Living Conditions and Integration of Refugees from Territories Directly Affected by Russian Aggression Against Ukraine, in Centers for Internally Displaced Persons in the Ivano-Frankivsk Community" is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland under development cooperation. The project envisages conducting 8 integration meetings and purchasing household equipment for the local collective accommodation center for IDPs. Follow the announcements and join the games!
