    Chrzanów County - is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Lesser Poland Voivodeship, southern Poland, formed on January 1, 1999, as a result of administrative reform. The county is located in the western part of the province. The administrative center is the city of Chrzanow. The population as of 2020 is 124,190 people, the area is 371.6 km2. Chrzanow County consists of 5 communes: Alvernia, Chrzanow, Libenz, Trzebinia and Babice.

    The area of ​​Chrzanow County on its largest historical scale is one of the oldest settlement centers in Poland. The history of the Chrzanów district is connected with the extraction of zinc and lead ores, from which a large amount of silver was also obtained.

    The first mention of Chrzanów dates back to the 12th century. During the First Polish Republic, the lands of the present county belonged to the Kraków County from 1397 and were subordinated to the elders in Kraków. From 1846 they belonged to the Grand Duchy of Cracow, included in Austria.
