Ochota is one of the 18 districts of the city of Warsaw called Dzelnica. The name of the district comes from the name of the inn, which was built in 1835 on Krakivska Street. Later, the settlement was named in this way, and then the whole area. Before the neighborhood earned its own name, it was part of the royal village of Velyka Volia for centuries. The earliest mention of these places dates back to 1238.

In the 18th century, roads were actively built, and in the middle of the 19th century, a railway passed through Ochota, which connected it with the capital and the whole world. The rapid development of the city was facilitated by the construction of water supply and sewerage and the opening of the Baby Jesus hospital. The period of true prosperity of the city was the interwar twentieth century. New settlements of inhabitants appeared, green gardens and parks blossomed. In September 1939, Ochota took an active part in defending Warsaw from Nazi invaders. These days are annually celebrated by the residents of Ochota.

After the war, the Hunt was quickly rebuilt. Many new houses and buildings of social and cultural significance appeared, which were built at the request of socialist realism. Fortunately, the old Ochota was also preserved. Today it is one of the districts of the capital city of Warsaw. Ochota covers an area of more than 972 hectares, 340 of which are greenery. 90 thousand inhabitants live in Ochota.

There are 2 kindergartens, 21 primary schools, 14 general schools, 5 gymnasiums, 9 lyceums, 2 vocational schools on the territory of Ochota. There are 5 higher education institutions and 8 student dormitories.

In 2003, in the competition for the best district of Warsaw, which was held by Gazeta Wyborcza, Ochota took the high 4th place.

The linear distance between Ivano-Frankivsk and Warsaw is 456 km.
