Grants for SMEs in the field of urban mobility (EIT URBAN MOBILITY)
The SME Market expansion Call is aimed at achieving the goals of EIT Urban Mobility to create jobs and strengthen the urban mobility sector. The aim of the call is to create opportunities for the expansion and development of SMEs. The call is aimed at supporting SMEs in establishing business relationships with transport service providers, cities and municipalities, which usually have strict procurement and compliance requirements, effectively excluding SMEs from the process of solving urban mobility problems.
Strategic priorities of this call for proposals:
- Implementation and scaling of sustainable, safe and inclusive solutions for the mobility of people and goods.
- Accelerating market opportunities using a flexible innovation approach.
SMEs will be supported in one of the following ways:
- Development of a new product/service for an existing customer
- Significant improvement of an existing product/service to expand into a new geographic region or sector.
The end client's interest must be confirmed by a letter.
The competition covers five main topics:
- Public transport: supporting innovation for safe, affordable, smart and sustainable public transport.
- Urban logistics: solutions for managing and planning the transportation of goods in cities, including reverse logistics and waste management.
- Electrification of transport and alternative fuels: promoting the introduction of electric vehicles and alternative fuels in cities, supporting new business models
- Mobility data management: effective integration and management of data to improve transportation systems.
- Health and mobility: innovations to reduce emissions and improve the quality of life in cities through active mobility and pollution monitoring.
The competition is open to SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) that meet the following requirements:
- Registered as legal entities for no more than 10 years at the time of the official closing of the competition.
- Registered as legal entities in an EU Member State or a third country associated with Horizon Europe, including Ukraine.
- Have at least 3 full-time employees (full-time equivalent).
Applicants must plan to develop and test the product/service/solution with an end customer in an EU Member State and/or a third country associated with Horizon Europe, including Ukraine.
If an applicant submits more than one proposal, only the proposal with the highest score in the ranking list may be funded.
The competition budget is EUR 892,500.
Each participant will receive EUR 59,500 for the project.
