#Part4CM The RO-UA Partnership for Climate Change Mitigation project aims to promote sustainable energy development and the use of energy-efficient technologies to facilitate the transition to renewab

But among other things, it is also worth paying attention to the pros and cons of renewable energy sources. Everything in the world has benefits and harms, advantages and disadvantages. Renewable energy sources are no exception.

They allow us to generate clean electricity and heat in one place. But to produce equipment, minerals are mined, metals are smelted, and oil is refined in other regions. In addition to turning turbines, reservoirs supply water to people and industry. However, rivers are silted up, and entire ecosystems on flooded lands disappear. Small generating units make it possible to provide autonomous life support at home - but they have a long-term payback period, and their efficiency depends on the season and the vagaries of the weather. However, the cost is simpler: in order to develop alternative energy, governments of different countries set quotas for the purchase of excess energy from small producers at a green tariff. Increasing the share of renewable energy sources in the total energy needs of earthlings is a way to use natural resources wisely.

It is about taking care of the health of future generations and preserving endangered plants and animals. It also means new highly skilled jobs that will contribute to the development of science and education, and will make it possible to create comfortable conditions in a difficult climate without harming the environment.

The RO-UA Partnership for Climate Change Mitigation project is funded by the European Union through the European Neighborhood Instrument and co-financed by the countries participating in the ENI CBC Romania-Ukraine 2014-2020 Program.
