#Part4CM The RO-UA Partnership for Climate Change Mitigation project aims to promote the transition to renewable energy sources, protect the environment, and reduce the negative impact on climate chan

2022.07.19

The conventional energy sector produces energy using coal, gas and nuclear power plants. This has led to a crisis in the form of climate change, air and water pollution, food shortages, nuclear proliferation, and radioactive contamination of large areas.

However, there is already a modern and safe alternative to coal and nuclear power plants - renewable energy sources (RES). They are inexhaustible and environmentally friendly, and will help ensure energy independence, as they do not require constant purchases of fuel - uranium, gas, and coal. Renewable energy can provide sufficient heat and electricity for industry, households, transportation, and agriculture. It will create new jobs for manufacturing and installing equipment, installing and maintaining solar systems, and conducting energy audits of buildings.

Environmentalists advocate for the fastest possible reduction in coal, oil and gas consumption by improving energy efficiency and switching to renewable energy sources (RES), and for the gradual abandonment of nuclear power. In the context of climate change and environmental pollution, this is an urgent task for all of humanity. Unlike nuclear power and fossil fuels, RES do not destroy the environment and are inexhaustible. If used wisely and sparingly, they can power our civilization for hundreds and thousands of years without wars and conflicts over limited fossil fuel deposits.

The RO-UA Partnership for Climate Change Mitigation project is funded by the European Union through the European Neighborhood Instrument and co-financed by the countries participating in the ENI CBC Romania-Ukraine 2014-2020 Program.
