2022.04.18

In this regard, the share of electric vehicles in the global market has increased 41 times over the past 10 years to 8.3 percent. Last year, sales of electric vehicles reached 6.75 million, up 108 percent year-on-year. Sales of electric vehicles on the global market in 2021 increased by 108 percent year-on-year to 6.75 million, which is a record high in history. Sales of electric vehicles in 2020 amounted to 3.24 million despite the pandemic. While in 2012 the share of electric vehicles in the global market was 0.2 percent, last year it reached 8.3 percent.

Thus, the market for electric vehicles has increased 41 times in 10 years. The largest number of electric vehicles were sold in 2021 in China - 3.4 million. Thus, sales in China increased by 155 percent, or 2.06 million, compared to the previous year. In Europe, 2.3 million electric vehicles were sold, which is 66 percent more than in 2020. The United States ranks third in electric vehicle sales - 735 thousand, followed by South Korea - 114 thousand 500 electric vehicles. Sales of electric vehicles in Israel, Australia, India, and Japan exceeded 10 thousand. Despite these sales figures, the infrastructure of charging stations for electric vehicles is not yet sufficiently developed.

And the option of installing an individual charging station at home is not suitable for everyone. Therefore, to expand the network of charging stations in our city, a charging station for electric vehicles with solar panels, online monitoring of the energy produced, photovoltaics, and its consumption when charging cars will be installed. The installation is part of the RO-UA Partnership for Climate Change Mitigation project.

The RO-UA Partnership for Climate Change Mitigation project is funded by the European Union through the European Neighborhood Instrument and co-financed by the countries participating in the ENI CBC Romania-Ukraine 2014-2020 Program.
