#SF Practical application of data-center monitoring

2023.03.08

In order to prevent emergencies that threaten the life, health, and safety of society, the practice of using data-center for monitoring is very popular around the world. In the event of a dangerous situation, a quick response is crucial. Street filming can be used by emergency services to determine access routes, and situation awareness, improve communication and coordination and ensure all involved parties have the same overview of the situation across the board.

Spatial intelligence also helps to avoid and prevent potentially dangerous situations and informs about potential on-site obstacles. In terms of city security, data-centers help the police to promptly respond and prevent hazards in the city. The use of data-centers for license plate identification, face recognition, and monitoring of the situation in the city is used in leading countries as a basis for fighting crime. Similar software is used by border services to detect illegal travelers.

The project Safe Future (SF, 1HARD/4.3/36) is implemented under the Joint Operational Programme Romania-Ukraine 2014-2020 co-funded by the European Union ENI CBC Romania-Ukraine 2014-2020. The project aims to build four data-centers in each of the partner cities: Ivano-Frankivsk, Solotvyno, Baia Mare, and Sziget. The Data-center in Ivano-Frankivsk will be located in a communal building at the Rukh Stadium.
