We launch a solidary partnership with the German city of Erfurt.
On March 7, Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv held a joint online meeting with the Mayor of Erfurt Andreas Bausewein, to discuss about establishing a partnership. During the meeting, the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk spoke about our community. After the villages joined Ivano-Frankivsk, the area of the city grew, and therefore the needs of the community. Currently, our city is the Ukrainian rear, as the city received 42 thousand internally displaced people as of today.
Ivano-Frankivsk is interested in deepening economic ties, supporting medical institutions, improving transport infrastructure, and cultural and educational exchanges. Therefore, we plan to participate in joint international projects, including those funded by the German government. Cooperation with German cities is very important for us, as Germany is one of the leading countries in Europe that actively supports Ukraine.
The mayor thanked the German partners for their assistance to Ukraine and invited Erfurt's administration to Ivano-Frankivsk to build cooperation at various levels. We want it to be mutually beneficial for our cities in the economic, medical, educational, cultural, and other spheres. We thank you and look forward to productive cooperation in the future.
We are also thankful to Engagement Global Organization for moderating and holding our meeting.
