Results of 3 Years of Crisis Management in the Hospitality Sector”, implemented by the State Agency for Tourism Development of Ukraine, Ivano-Frankivsk City Council and King Danylo University as part of the National Tourism Summit project.

The forum was held at King Danylo University.

The event was attended by representatives of government agencies and non-governmental organizations from Kyiv, Odesa, Chernivtsi, Ternopil, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Uzhhorod, Irpin, Chernihiv, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Rivne, Cherkasy, Khmelnytskyi, and cities and villages throughout Ivano-Frankivsk region.

The purpose of the forum was to analyze the tourism industry over the past three years, which have been extremely unfavorable and difficult for this sector.

The program of the event included several panel discussions: “Inclusive Tourism: Challenges and Opportunities”, ‘Sustainable Tourism Development: Protecting Nature and Cultural Heritage’ and ‘Medical Tourism: Relevance and Prospects’.

The event organizers commented on the event.
Svyatoslav Nikorovich, Deputy Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk:
“This is a great opportunity to discuss ideas, share experiences and think about tourism development.”

Mariana Oleskiv, Head of the State Agency for Tourism Development of Ukraine, shared her thoughts on the forum:
“The hospitality industry, which is really a field of impressions, helps people who are going through difficult moments today to get away from it and enjoy our nature, culture and history. “Routes of Memory” is another new challenge for us, as we have to capture the memories of the war in Ukraine and show them to the world. Everyone is actively working on these topics, and we need to share our experience, because it is much more effective to work together when efforts are combined.”

The event also featured a barrier-free map “City Without Borders: Tourism” was created in cooperation with the State Agency for Tourism Development and the LUN City NGO, which will mark accommodation facilities where certain steps have already been taken to ensure free access for people with limited mobility.

By the way, in Ivano-Frankivsk region, the amount of tourist tax increased by 120% to UAH 22 million 745 thousand compared to 2021, when the regional budget received UAH 10 million 358 thousand for the same period. According to the results of three quarters of last year, the region's tourist tax amounted to UAH 14 million 69 thousand.
