The project's kick-off press conference was held in Ivano-Frankivsk!
On December 5, 2024, the kick-off press conference of the project “IFSynergy - Cross-border cooperation in SMART management of water supply systems in the cities of Siedlce and Ivano-Frankivsk” was held. The project is being implemented within the framework of the Interreg Next Poland-Ukraine cross-border cooperation program 2021-2027.
At the event, the Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk Ruslan Martsinkiv delivered a welcoming speech. Ihor Bohun, Head of the Pumping Station Service at Ivano-Frankivskvodoekotehprom, shared details about the company's activities and the specifics of pumping stations in the city. Ihor Popadok, Director of the Department of Investment Policy, Projects, International Relations, Tourism, and City Promotions of Ivano-Frankivsk City Council, presented the IFSynergy project, describing its goals and objectives in detail.
The main aim of the project is to improve the water supply monitoring and management system in Ivano-Frankivsk, making it modern and technologically efficient. In particular, the project envisages the modernization of water supply networks and the installation of new equipment with monitoring and control systems that will allow:
- reduce water losses;
- improve the quality of drinking water for residents;
- improve communication services for the population through innovative solutions such as GIS systems, chatbots, new methods of access and payment.
The project also aims to raise the environmental awareness of residents about the rational use of water resources, with a focus on providing quality services to people with disabilities.
The project activities include:
- modernization of the water treatment plant in Sedlce and 40 water pumping stations in Ivano-Frankivsk;
- installation of modern equipment for pressure control, monitoring, management and analysis of water quality;
- exchange of experience between specialists of both cities and professional development of employees;
- training activities aimed at environmental education of citizens.
The IFSynergy project was selected as part of the Interreg Next Poland-Ukraine 2021-2027 program and started on September 1, 2024. The duration of the project is 24 months. The total project budget is EUR 1,603,384.50. The budget for Ivano-Frankivsk is 601,351 euros. The Water Supply and Sewerage Company in Siedlce (Poland) acted as the Lead Partner, and the Executive Committee of Ivano-Frankivsk City Council joined as a project partner.
