#INSPIRE Inspiring eco-initiatives: children change their school environment

As part of the INSPIRE project - Inclusive and Nurturing Spaces for Progressive, Innovative, and Responsive Education, implemented under the Interreg NEXT Romania-Ukraine 2021-2027 programme, we support school eco-initiatives as a way to teach children to care for the environment from an early age
This is an opportunity for children not only to learn about nature, but also to take action for the benefit of the planet. Pupils participate in planting trees, creating school gardens and flower beds, which helps to make the school environment greener and more comfortable. They also learn about environmental practices in everyday life: they create mini-composters, sort waste and take care of school resources. Practical classes are particularly popular, such as ‘My Green Classroom,’ where children independently care for plants in their classroom, observe their growth, and learn responsibility, patience, and cooperation.
Within the framework of INSPIRE, such initiatives become part of inclusive educational programmes so that every child has the opportunity to join in caring for nature. Thanks to these small but important steps, a generation is being formed today that will actively care for the environment tomorrow.
