#JCulture As part of the project on February 17-18, the delegation took part in an exchange tour to the wonderful town of Sighetu Marmatiei
As part of the project "Research and Preservation of Jewish Cultural Heritage in the Border Area" on February 17-18, a delegation from Ivano-Frankivsk accompanied by 15 representatives of the local community, historians, museums, the Jewish community and the project team took part in an exchange experiance to the town of Sighetu Marmatiei in Romania.
The main purpose of this trip was to join an of cross-border professionals, collaborate and exchange ideas, offering each other feedback, suggestions and solutions to overcome common challenges.
The project «Research and preservation of Jewish cultural heritage in the border area» (JCulture) aims to increase competitiveness at the borders of the European Union near the cities of Ivano-Frankivsk and Sighetu Marmatiei on the principles of cooperation and volunteering in the joint tourism capitalization of multicultural heritage, identification, preservation and promotion of Jewish heritage as famous members of history. The project envisages repairing the drainage of the Synagogue, installing lighting, 10 memorial plaques and creating a "Jewish" tourist route.
