#NEF Student hackathon in Ivano-Frankivsk: winners and impressions
Last week, representatives of the New Economy Ivano-Frankivsk project team were invited to join the jury of the TechFusion Hackathon (a student hackathon held as part of the Regina 4.0 project), which took place at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University.
The hackathon was facilitated by Finbar Carter, Head of the Student Entrepreneurship Center at the University of East Anglia, United Kingdom.
In a few hours, the students had to choose an urgent problem for the city, come up with a solution, and present their ideas to the jury. In such a short time, the students managed to interview city residents, shoot videos, make good presentations, and present their ideas in a high-quality manner.
The winners of the hackathon were the team with the idea of a project that improves the experience of using parking spaces in the city - the traffic problem in Ivano-Frankivsk was the biggest among the surveyed audience.
The second place went to a team that came up with an idea for a long-distance transportation service. They also tried to solve an urgent problem faced by many people traveling by intercity transport.
The third place went to the team with the idea of an innovative pregnancy test, based on technology that helps analyze indicators faster and more extensively. The team proposed a business model, analyzed the cost side, and assessed sales prospects.
Other interesting projects included those related to improving the quality of life in the city, related to the tourism business, and a project with the idea of car sharing.
The projects were evaluated by a jury of 5 experts in various fields.
