#ParksMatter Grant contract was signed!
Today, the Director of the Department Ihor Popadiuk together with the Director of the Municipal Enterprise “Center for City Development and Recreation” Ruslana Vasylyuk signed a grant contract for a total amount of EUR 1 168 843,06 (budget for Ivano-Frankivsk - EUR 568 041,32) for the implementation of the project “City Parks Matter - a new approach to urban greenery management in Ivano-Frankivsk and Rzeszów (ParksMatter)” under the Interreg Next Poland-Ukraine 2021-2027 Programme.
The overall objective of the project is “To develop and implement a new sustainable approach to urban greenery management with enhanced expert competencies and increased environmental awareness of population on the crossborder region”.
The main activities of the project are aimed at:
- development of a joint document - the Strategic plan for urban greenery management in Ivano-Frankivsk and Rzeszów and increase competencies of local subject-matter experts;
- enhancing awareness of residents of the cross-border region on the importance of nature protection and the value of green zones in cities;
- improvement of the infrastructure of two urban parks in Ivano-Frankivsk and Rzeszów as pilot zones for implementation of new developed approach.
In Ivano-Frankivsk, the project will be implemented in Molodizhnyi Park, where multifunctional recreation areas for different categories of people are planned.
