It is thanks to wind, solar or water energy that we can significantly reduce carbon emissions into the atmosphere, which, as we know, have a detrimental effect on the climate situation in the world. The project "Romania-Ukraine Partnership for Climate Change Mitigation" aims to develop and support innovative cooperation on climate change mitigation in the Romania-Ukraine cross-border region to ensure sustainable development of the territories. Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing the planet today. For example, unpredictable weather conditions and rising sea levels, which increase the risk of natural disasters, are consequences of climate change and are global in nature and unprecedented in scale. Human activity changes the environment and affects the climate. The main problems today are: rising CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere due to fuel combustion, aerosols in the atmosphere, land use, ozone depletion, livestock farming and deforestation.

Climate change affects our environment, economy, and health in different ways. Scientists warn that if we do not make significant changes to keep global temperature rise below 1.5 °C, the results will be catastrophic. Therefore, as part of the project, we are raising awareness of climate change and ways to mitigate the harmful effects of human activity on the environment.

The RO-UA Partnership for Climate Change Mitigation project is funded by the European Union through the European Neighborhood Instrument and co-financed by the countries participating in the ENI CBC Romania-Ukraine 2014-2020 Program.
