#Part4CM The trend to switch to electric cars is becoming more and more widespread in the world
The tendency to switch to electric cars is becoming more and more widespread in the world and, consequently, the electric car market is developing rapidly. For example, 79% of cars bought in Norway in 2022 are electric. This significantly reduces the carbon footprint and, therefore, the negative impact on the environment.
We support this trend as part of the «RO-UA Partnership for Climate Change Mitigation» (Part4CM) project, which provides for the installation of a solar panel charging station for electric vehicles in Ivano-Frankivsk. The project aims to develop and support of innovative cooperation aimed at mitigating climate change in the cross-border region of Romania-Ukraine. The relevance of the trend of buying electric cars in Ukraine confirmed by data indicating that since the beginning of the war, this market has grown one and a half times.
To some extent, this was due to the fuel crisis. Last year, Ukrainians purchased 13,600 zero-emission cars. Since the number of electric cars is predicting to increase further in the world, the development of the infrastructure of charging power stations is becoming more and more important.
The «RO-UA Partnership for Climate Change Mitigation» project is funded by the European Union through the European Neighborhood Instrument and co-financed by countries participating in the ENI CBC Romania-Ukraine 2014-2020.
