#SmartTour The SmartTour project continues to bring together European regions around innovation, digital transformation, and sustainable mobility in tourism
On November 18-19, the second partner meeting and thematic workshop of Smart Tourism - Smart Destinations: Accessibility, Sustainability, Digitalization, Cultural Heritage, and Creativity (Smart Tour) project, implemented under the Interreg Europe program, was held in Jesolo (Italy), bringing together representatives of tourism organizations, municipalities, and experts from across Europe. Over two days, participants explored modern approaches to the development of tourist destinations: from digital tools for small and medium-sized businesses to smart mobility strategies that make travel more comfortable, environmentally friendly, and accessible.
Particular attention was focused on how data, digital platforms, mobile applications, and new formats of interaction with tourists can change the quality of service and influence the growth of destinations' competitiveness. Participants shared practical cases of using digital solutions, talked about business support tools and new approaches to the work of tourism institutions, and discussed the challenges facing the sector in the context of the green and digital transition.
Representatives of Ivano-Frankivsk took an active part in the event and represented the city well, presenting their achievements in the field of sustainable mobility and innovation in urban space. The presentation was an important contribution to the overall discussion, as it highlighted how local actions can help improve the quality of transport and create convenient infrastructure for residents and tourists. The city team also joined professional discussions on digital opportunities, considered the approaches of other European regions, and exchanged experiences, which strengthened Ivano-Frankivsk's position among SmartTour participants.
The program concluded with study visits to tourist, educational, and infrastructure facilities in Jesolo, where participants were able to see firsthand how modern solutions are integrated into the daily work of the tourism sector.
