Business breakfast with the mayor and local architects on the topic of the concept for developing the territory of the City Children's Ecological Station!
Purpose of the meeting: development of a concept for the City Children's Ecological Station and creating a spatial vision for the territory. Architects, landscape designers, educators, and representatives of higher educational institutions have been invited to the meeting.
The breakfast participants shared their ideas, in particular regarding the planning and development of the institution's territory, creating an innovative space for teaching and environmental development of children, including an inclusive component.
"Together with the City Children's Ecological Station, we are applying for a Romania-Ukraine project. We looked at the territory, the state it's in, what can be done there, and faced the fact that a spatial development strategy is needed, as well as functional use of it," says Igor Popadyuk, Director of the Department of Investment Policy.
"We are the only ones in the city to have a greenhouse complex where we teach an experimental site – that’s our hallmark. We are currently working on a project involving greenhouses where we grow seedlings, lead hobby groups for children, and provide rehabilitation for IDP children who enjoy working with plants," says Halyna Hlushko, director of the Ecological Station. The place is there, the team is there, and the desire to develop this territory is there. A development project and grant funds are needed in order to improve this oasis within our city.
The general idea is that the City Children's Ecological Station should become a leading center for the formation of environmental consciousness among students and the city community, contribute to changing the culture of behavior towards the environment.
"Such a treasure exists in our city that needs to be carefully developed. As an architect, I want to say that making such a comprehensive project is the right decision. I will help in any way I can, because we need to work together to implement such things for our children and to preserve such a value," says Ira Choliy, architect and designer.
