Results of the Project STEM Education in Vocational and Professional Schools
The development of education ensures the success of the city for many years.
Ivano-Frankivsk managed to successfully implement the Project 2SOFT/1.1/23 STEM Education in Vocational and Professional Schools co-financed by the Joint Operational Programme Romania-Ukraine 2014-2020.
The Joint Operational Program Romania-Ukraine 2014-2020 is funded by the European Union through the European Neighborhood Instrument and co-financed by the countries participating in the Program.
Due to the Project implementation, the vocational and professional schools of the city replenished their material and technical base with modern and professional equipment. This will allow their students to increase technical awareness and become more competitive.
- Equipment worth EUR 18,604 has been purchased for Vocational School №13: testing and measuring devices and apparatus; welding equipment; electrical equipment; trailers and semi-trailers.
- Equipment worth EUR 29,430 has been purchased for Vocational School №21: metalworking machines, hydraulic press; screw-cutting lathe; sandblasting machine; bending manual machine, etc.;
- Equipment worth EUR 29,901 has been purchased for Ivano-Frankivsk Professional Polytechnic Lyceum: CNC machine; electro mechanical hand tools; drilling, boring and milling machines.
The Project included series of training courses for teachers from Ivano-Frankivsk and Romania, who were able to learn online.
During the training teachers got acquainted with innovative technologies that are used for distance learning. Much attention has been paid to virtual and augmented reality technologies as important tools for STEM education and improving the perception of information.
An important component of the Project was the cooperation between business representatives and teachers of vocational schools through the workshop "Involvement of the business sector in vocational education" and many other workshops. Such events deepen cooperation and allow to prepare students in accordance with the requests of local businesses, which will significantly improve the employment situation.
