On 27-28 November, the Lviv Intermunicipal Partnership Forum was held!
Director of the Investment Policy Department Ihor Popadiuk and the Head of Project Activities Department Lidiia Cherevko took part in the Municipal Partnership Forum, which was first held in Lviv. До заходу долучились представники 45 українських громад та 11 європейських.
Purpose of the forum – promoting the idea of inter-municipal partnerships between municipalities in Ukraine and the EU.
Ihor Popadiuk had a welcoming speech and spoke with the theme "How to increase the chances of Ukrainian communities to participate in projects".
After the start of the full-scale invasion, local governments in Europe actively joined in supporting their colleagues in Ukraine by sending humanitarian aid, utility equipment, and publicising their support for Ukraine at the national and international levels.
Since then, many Europeans have discovered Ukraine by engaging in decentralised cooperation between municipalities, signing hundreds of new municipal partnership agreements.
Key topics: public diplomacy of Ukrainian cities in wartime, participation of communities in European programs and projects, cooperation between the government, parliament and communities in the European integration process, as well as the experience of European communities for Ukraine's European integration.
The Lviv Municipal Partnership Forum is an event organized on the initiative of Cities 4 Cities United 4 Ukraine, which aims to promote the idea of intermunicipal partnerships between municipalities in Ukraine and the EU. The forum is being implemented with the support of the US Agency for International Development USAID project “Enhancing Public Trust” (UCBI) and the “Support to Decentralisation in Ukraine” project of the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions SALAR International.
