#ALTHERA Within the framework of the “ALTHERA - Alternative Therapies in Maramureș and Ivano-Frankivsk” project, a renovated and improved rehabilitation department was opened

      An updated and improved rehabilitation department was opened at the city children's hospital.

      The results of the international "Altera" project within the framework of the Romania-Ukraine cross-border cooperation program 2014-2020. Thanks to the "Altera" project, it was possible to repair, equip and outfit the rehabilitation department at the City Children's Clinical Hospital. The medical institution showed program representatives and journalists what exactly they managed to do in the new premises thanks to EU funding. Children with problems with the musculoskeletal system or disorders of the nervous system are already undergoing rehabilitation in the large hall.

      A large hall for physical activities, renovated lobby and offices in the department. Within the "Altera" project, it was possible to completely renew the premises. In the rehabilitation and renewal department, small patients with severe disorders of the nervous system and musculoskeletal system will be able to receive treatment, these are children with cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder, Down's syndrome, as well as scoliotic posture and scoliosis. According to doctors, there is a large complex of therapeutic and diagnostic interventions that certainly improve the child's condition.

      Instead, the Romanian representative Cezar Grozavu assured, “Altera” is a unique project and it is very good that it is being jointly implemented in Ivano-Frankivsk and in the Romanian city of Maramureș.

      “This project is unique in that it addresses precisely those issues that relate to very specific medical services. Within the EU we have several projects, but they are tangential. It concerned the procurement of medical motor transport, but this particular project is unique. This project is being implemented under the joint program between Baia Mare County and Ivano-Frankivsk,” says the executive director of the Romania-Ukraine international program Cezar Grozavu.
      The project ALTHERA – Alternative therapies in Maramures and Ivano-Frankivsk (1HARD/4.1/37) is implemented within the framework of the Joint Operational Program Romania Ukraine 2014-2020 with the co-financing of the European Union ENI CBC Romania-Ukraine 2014-2020.
