#CULTROUTE History, Culture, and Partnership: Romanian Partners Visit Ivano-Frankivsk
As part of the “Thematic Route of Castles 2 (CULT.ROUTE)” project, implemented under the Interreg VI A NEXT Hungary–Slovakia–Romania–Ukraine program, partners from Romania visited Ivano-Frankivsk.
The guests took part in an atmospheric tour performance “Along the Ancient Paths of the Modern City,” which combined history, theater, and an interactive way to explore the city. Together with the participants, they walked the streets of old Stanislaviv, discovering its legends, architectural gems, and little-known pages of the past.
The partners visited the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Museum of Local Lore, where they viewed exhibits dedicated to the history of the Carpathian region, the city’s development, and the region’s cultural traditions.
The participants also visited the City Hall — one of Ivano-Frankivsk’s main architectural landmarks. From the observation deck, guests had the opportunity to view the historic city center from above and better experience the atmosphere of old Stanislaviv, where history, architecture, and modern urban life converge.
An important part of the visit was a tour of the Potocki Palace — an iconic landmark that is an integral part of Ivano-Frankivsk’s history and one of the city’s key tourist attractions.
Another location was the “City and Weapons” Museum, where guests explored a collection of historical weapons and military artifacts, as well as exhibits highlighting various stages in the development of the city and the region. The visit to the museum provided an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the historical context and the importance of preserving cultural memory.
In addition to the cultural program, working meetings were also held, during which partners discussed the further implementation of the project, future joint activities, the development of thematic tourist routes, and new opportunities for cross-border cooperation.
Many thanks to our partners for their visit, their openness to cooperation, and our shared commitment to preserving historical memory for future generations.
