#CULTROUTE Exchange of experiences for experts in the field of culture as part of the CULT.ROUTE project – Thematic Castle Route 2
From March 11 to 13, 2026, the Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association organized an exchange of experiences for experts in the field of culture as part of the “Thematic Route through Castles 2 (CULT.ROUTE)” project, implemented with the support of the Interreg VI-A Next Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine programme. The event brought together experts from Ivano-Frankivsk (Ukraine), Fehérgyarmat (Hungary), and Satu Mare County (from Livada, Cărei, Ardud, and Medieșu Aurit).
On the first day of the event, the experts gave presentations on best practices for promoting the castles of Satu Mare County (Livada Castle, Carei Castle, Ardud Castle, and Medieșu Aurit) as well as those in Ivano-Frankivsk and Fehérgyarmat. There was also a discussion on the most effective methods for promoting cultural heritage.
The following day, participants made working visits to Lonjay Castle in Medieșu Aurit and Karo Castle in Carei, where they had the opportunity to learn about local and international good practices, further strengthening cross-border cooperation. At the end of the event, opportunities for activating cross-border cooperation were analyzed, and common areas of action were identified for the development of services to promote cultural heritage in border regions.
