#CULTROUTE Ancient paths of the modern city – a second meeting with the past

2025.10.21

On 20 October, the second tour was held as part of the project “Thematic Route of Castles 2 (CULT.ROUTE)”, which is implemented within the Interreg VI A NEXT Hungary–Slovakia–Romania–Ukraine programme.

This time, new participants joined the tour, discovering the history of Stanislaviv for the first time. Together, we walked the streets of the old city again, from the Potocki Palace to the dungeons of the City Hall, feeling the atmosphere of past eras and listening to the legends that live in the heart of Ivano-Frankivsk.

During the walk, we talked not only about notable architectural landmarks — the Potocki Palace, the Trinitarian Monastery, the Museum of Carpathian Art, the old medical university building, and the Neptune bathhouse — but also about the human stories connected to these places. After all, it is through people's destinies that the city comes to life, and its past becomes closer and more understandable.

This tour confirmed that interest in the history of our hometown is only growing. Each meeting brings together citizens and guests who want to see Ivano-Frankivsk not through the eyes of a tourist, but as part of a living heritage that continues to write its history today.

There are four more themed tours ahead as part of the CULT.ROUTE project. Follow our announcements so you don't miss the next encounter with history!
