#CULTROUTE Along the ancient paths of the modern city — through history, architecture, and new meanings!

As part of European Heritage Days and within the framework of the “Thematic Route of Castles 2” project under the Interreg VI-A NEXT Hungary–Slovakia–Romania–Ukraine program, informational tours titled “Along the ancient paths of the modern city” were held.

It was a special journey through Ivano-Frankivsk — a city where history isn’t confined to the pages of books but continues to live right alongside us.

The route took participants through the city’s iconic sites: from the Potocki Palace and the former Trinitarian Monastery to the Carpathian Art Museum, the Morphological Building of the Medical University, the “Neptune” Baths, and the “Bastion” Fortress Gallery.

Certain stops offered a new perspective on the familiar city center — the Cathedral of the Holy Resurrection of Christ, City Hall, and its dungeon, where the history of Ivano-Frankivsk unfolds from a completely different view.

Participants learned more about the city’s architectural heritage, its past, transformations, and the stories that have shaped modern Ivano-Frankivsk.
