#CULTROUTE Pages from the history of Stanislaviv: one more exciting trip around the city
On 31 October, one more trip was held as part of the “Thematic Route of Castles 2 (CULT.ROUTE)” project, which is implemented under the Interreg VI A NEXT Hungary–Slovakia–Romania–Ukraine programme.
This trip was a real discovery for all participants - an opportunity to see a familiar city from a different angle and hear little-known stories hidden in the streets and buildings of old Stanislaviv. Guests learned why a military hospital was opened in the palace of the city's owners, what connection the city prison has to the Trinitarian monastery, why the city's oldest church has no crosses, and what the core on the bastion wall symbolizes.
A special part of the trip was meeting with UIA centurion “Khmara” - commander of the legendary “Black Forest” unit, who shared his memories of the Ukrainian rebels' struggle in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. His story gave the event deep meaning, as this date is especially important in the history of the Ukrainian liberation movement.
The trip brought together history, memory, and the living experience of generations, proving once again that the past is not just events, but also a spirit that lives on in our city.
