#CULTROUTE From classical melodies to folk traditions

As part of European Heritage Days and within the framework of the “Thematic Route of Castles 2” project under the Interreg VI-A NEXT Hungary–Slovakia–Romania–Ukraine program, a concert programme featuring musical groups from different cities of Ukraine took place on the Potocki Palace complex.

Throughout the festival day, the historic space of the palace was filled with music, Ukrainian melodies and live performances, creating a special atmosphere for the guests. The concert programme became another way to discover cultural heritage — this time through music, singing and traditional art.

“Quattro Corde” — an academic string ensemble at the Ira Malaniuk Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Philharmonic — presented the “European Magistra” programme. The refined sound of string instruments in the historic complex created a special atmosphere and gave the audience an opportunity to enjoy academic music surrounded by architectural heritage.

The Kyiv Academic Ensemble of Ukrainian Music “DNIPRO” performed the “Living Water” programme, presenting Ukrainian musical traditions to the audience in a contemporary concert format. Their performance was an opportunity to hear Ukrainian music that combines authentic motifs, professional performance and a modern stage interpretation.

A special part of the programme was the master class by the “Dryg” Community of Traditional Dance and Singing from Lviv. Festival guests could not only watch traditional dances but also join in, follow the movements and experience Ukrainian culture directly through participation. 

The musical programme brought together academic art, Ukrainian musical traditions and live interaction with the audience. Music, singing and dance filled the historic space of the palace with life and once again demonstrated that cultural heritage can be living, open and accessible to everyone.
