#DAPHNE Third International Learning Event of Project Partners
On September 9–10 in Dublin, Ireland, the third international learning event of the partners and stakeholders of the project “DAPHNE – Decarbonisation of Healthcare in EU Regions” took place. During the meeting, participants learned how Ireland managed to develop one of the most effective energy-saving systems in European healthcare institutions through the implementation of energy management, data collection, and analysis of consumption using a dedicated software tool. This enabled the publication of the Infrastructure Decarbonisation Roadmap in 2022.
The participants also held a workshop aimed at analyzing best practices within the Trail II of the project, assessing their relevance for partners, and exchanging information on the methods of implementing such practices. This meeting marked the start of the Trail III – policy instrument improvement. A meeting of the Project Steering Committee was also held.
On September 10, a study visit was organized to Saint Brigid’s Hospital in Ardee, County Louth, where the installation of heat pumps has enabled the hospital to achieve 90% renewable energy consumption.
