#DAPHNE Starting press conference !
On September 5, 2024, the public restaurant Urban Space 100 hosted a kick-off press conference for the DAPHNE - Decarbonizing Healthcare in the EU Regions project, which is being implemented as part of the Interreg Europe interregional cooperation program.
Alla Vatseba, Head of the Health Care Department of Ivano-Frankivsk City Council, delivered a welcoming speech at the event. Tetiana Revchuk, Chief Specialist of the Department of Economic Development, Ecology and Energy Saving of Ivano-Frankivsk City Council, spoke about the work on the Municipal Energy Plan of Ivano-Frankivsk.
Ihor Popadiuk, Director of the Department of Investment Policy, Projects, International Relations, Tourism and City Promotion of Ivano-Frankivsk City Council, presented DAPHNE - Decarbonizing Healthcare in EU Regions project, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve energy efficiency policies and implement innovative solutions to reduce carbon emissions in the healthcare sector. The project includes, among other things, analyzing the energy efficiency context of European healthcare institutions, studying and sharing best practices of European countries in the field of decarbonization, and changing relevant policies to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions.
The DAPHNE project was selected under the second call of the Interreg Europe program and started on April 1, 2024. The duration of the project is 48 months. The total project budget is EUR 1,897,888. The budget for Ivano-Frankivsk is EUR 119,200. The Executive Committee of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council joined the project as a discovery partner (note: discovery partner is a new format for joining Interreg Europe projects for 7 EU candidate countries, which this year for the first time had the opportunity to join the program). Ivano-Frankivsk's participation in the project involves analyzing the energy efficiency of the city's healthcare facilities and sharing best practices with European partners to improve the energy efficiency of healthcare facilities.
