#EdAH Art and Technology: New Horizons of Creativity
One more lecture on “Introduction to Digital Technologies and Software for Artistic Creativity” was held within the framework of the “Educational-Artistic Horizons beyond the Borders ”(EdAH)”, implemented within the Interreg NEXT Romania-Ukraine 2021-2027 program with the support of the European Union.
The speaker of the event was Serhii Voitovych, PhD in Technical Sciences, who guided participants through the evolution of art from the perspective of technological change. Participants explored how methods of material processing, visualization techniques, and approaches to creating artistic objects have transformed over time - from traditional handcrafted practices to digital and algorithmic solutions.
Special attention was paid to contemporary digital tools that are reshaping the creative process:
- from computer modeling and digital visualization to the preparation of objects for implementation in physical space;
- from separate stages of work to integrated 3D technologies that combine design, analysis, and production within a single workflow.
A dedicated part of the lecture focused on artificial intelligence and its role in contemporary creative practice. Participants learned how AI tools can support idea generation, create multiple design variations, and expand the boundaries of creative exploration.
The discussion also highlighted the evolving role of the artist in the digital age - not only as a creator of forms, but also as a curator of processes, defining directions, setting parameters, and guiding the development of creative outcomes.
The event laid the foundation for further exploration of digital technologies in artistic practice and outlined future opportunities for their application within the project.
