#EdAH Text as Art: Experiments and New Meanings

On March 14, a workshop for adults with Olena Turianska took place as part of the School of Contemporary Art, implemented within the project “Educational-Artistic Horizons beyond the Borders ”(EdAH), implemented within the Interreg NEXT Romania-Ukraine 2021-2027 program with the support of the European Union.

Before the session, participants were invited to review the presentation from the previous meeting and choose an artist whose approach to working with text resonated with them the most.

Participants could also bring their own references or suggest other artists they were interested in exploring.

During the workshop, participants worked using the methods of the selected artists. In preparation, they gathered materials that became the basis for their creative work: texts, fragments from books and magazines, personal notes, found phrases, and other textual sources.

During the session, participants experimented with text as an artistic material — cutting, combining, and transforming fragments to create new compositions.

Text became an image, a rhythm, and part of a visual story.
