#IFSenergy Modern laboratories are the key to safe drinking water

2026.05.18

When you turn on the tap, you want to be sure that the water is clean, safe, and meets all standards. But behind that confidence lies the daily, often unnoticed, yet extremely important work of laboratories that test dozens of water parameters: chemical composition, trace elements, impurities, and compliance with standards.

In Ivano-Frankivsk, this work was carried out for years using an old spectrophotometer. But equipment wears out. Now this equipment can no longer be repaired — there are simply no spare parts available for it.

Therefore, the Executive Committee of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council decided to purchase a new inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometer with an autosampler.

This equipment will enable laboratories to:
– determine the elemental composition of drinking water, surface water, and wastewater with high precision;
– quickly detect even the slightest deviations;
– analyze the impact of treated wastewater on rivers after discharge;
– monitor multiple parameters simultaneously.

This means better quality control over what residents drink, a rapid response to potential threats, and an increase in the city’s environmental responsibility.
