#IFSynergy Global Water Challenges and Local Solutions

On April 29, 2026, the third workshop for HOA managers took place within the framework of the project “IFSynergy – Cross-border cooperation in SMART management of water supply systems in the cities of Ivano-Frankivsk and Siedlce”. The event brought participants together to discuss both global and local challenges related to water resources.

During the meeting, participants explored water as a key resource for life and development, highlighting its limited nature and vulnerability. The discussion began with an overview of global water resources — their availability, main sources of pollution, patterns of use, and the key challenges faced worldwide in 2026. 

Special attention was given to the situation in Ukraine. Participants discussed the current state of water resources, sources of pollution, usage patterns, and the major issues that require systematic approaches and modern solutions.

In the second part of the workshop, the focus shifted to the local level — Ivano-Frankivsk. Participants reviewed analytical insights on water availability, regional specifics, key pollution risks, and the challenges relevant to the community in 2026. Particular attention was paid to the cooperation with the municipal enterprise “Ivano-Frankivskvodotekhprom” within the IFSynergy project and the role of such initiatives in improving water resource management.

The event concluded with a summary and an open discussion, where participants exchanged ideas and practical experiences. The key message of the workshop was clear: water is not only a vital resource but also a significant environmental challenge that requires responsible management at all levels.
