#IFSynergy Communication is more than just words. It is the foundation of trust between the city and its residents.

We’ve all had a moment when the water suddenly stopped running at home. The first thing that comes to mind is, “What happened?” Then: “Why weren’t we warned?” “How long will this last?” And often, the main issue isn’t the outage itself, but the lack of information. Because silence from city services causes frustration, while openness and clarity foster understanding — even in an inconvenient situation.
In a modern city, communication must be just as effective and swift as the technical work itself. That is why one of the key focuses of the IFSynergy project is not only the modernization of water supply systems but also the creation of a new level of interaction with the public.
In the Polish city of Siedlce, a GIS module is already being implemented — an interactive map that shows in real time where a breakdown has occurred, where technical work is underway, and what the water supply situation is like in different districts. This transparency is reassuring. People can see that the problem is under control and can plan their day accordingly.
In Ivano-Frankivsk, a new chatbot is being prepared for launch — a digital tool that will serve as a resident’s assistant. It will allow users to receive notifications about outages, maintenance work, or accidents; submit meter readings; ask questions; and even pay for services online. This is a step toward a service that will be not only technical but also user-friendly.
Thanks to the IFSynergy project, we are building a system in which residents are no longer merely passive “recipients” of services. They become partners. People who receive timely and honest information are willing to cooperate, support change, and value the resource.
The project "IFSynergy – cross-border cooperation in SMART management of water supply systems in Siedlce and Ivano-Frankivsk" is being implemented within the framework of the Interreg Next Poland – Ukraine Programme 2021-2027.
