#IFSynergy Learning to conserve water: educational workshops started as part of the IFSynergy project

2025.11.05

On 4 November, Lyceum No. 22 held the first children's workshop as part of the “IFSynergy - Cross-border cooperation in SMART management of water supply systems in Siedlce and Ivano-Frankivsk” project. Fourth-grade students took part in an educational event on water conservation. Together with their teacher, they discussed why water is so important for life, learned about the causes of water pollution - from household waste to industrial waste - and thought about how everyone can help keep water bodies clean.

During the lesson, the children discussed environmental issues, viewed educational illustrations and the video ‘Turtle Lo and the Land of Rubbish,’ and conducted a water cleaning experiment, creating their own mini-filter from simple materials. In the reflective exercise ‘I am a drop of water,’ the pupils imagined themselves as part of nature, shared their thoughts and suggested their own rules for caring for water in everyday life.

Such activities help children realize that conserving water resources begins with small actions by each individual, and that caring for the environment is a daily responsibility and concern for the future of the planet.
