#IFSynergy Exchange of Experience for Effective Water Resources Management
As part of the project “IFSynergy – Cross-border cooperation in SMART management of water supply systems in the cities of Ivano-Frankivsk and Siedlce”, implemented under the Interreg Next Poland-Ukraine programme, representatives of Ivano-Frankivskvodotekhprom, water supply and wastewater treatment companies in Siedlce and Augustów conducted a joint study visit and exchanged experiences on modern approaches to water supply system management.
During the meeting, participants visited the water treatment plant in Augustów, learned about investments being implemented as part of the Interreg NEXT Poland–Ukraine projects, and discussed the progress of the IFSynergy project, the challenges faced by water utilities, and the prospects for developing SMART solutions in the water supply sector.
Particular attention was paid to the exchange of practical experience among the three companies. Representatives of the water utilities shared best practices regarding infrastructure modernization, improving energy efficiency, water quality control, and the implementation of modern technologies for more efficient resource management.
As part of the visit, the delegation also visited the ESMIL Group facility in Ełk. The company specializes in the manufacture, modernization, and repair of equipment for water supply and wastewater treatment facilities. The participants familiarized themselves with modern technological solutions for wastewater treatment, mechanical treatment, and the operation of water infrastructure facilities, and discussed opportunities for using innovative equipment to improve the efficiency of water utilities.
Such meetings are an important component of international cooperation, as they allow not only for the exchange of knowledge and best practices but also for finding new solutions to ensure high-quality and reliable water supply services for community residents.
