#IFSynergy The project's press conference was held in Siedlce!
On January 24, 2025, the press conference was held in Siedlce to inaugurate the project " IFSynergy - cross-border cooperation in SMART management of public water supply systems in Ivano-Frankivsk and Siedlce". The project is implemented as part of the cross-border cooperation program Interreg NEXT Poland - Ukraine 2021-2027.
During the event, speeches were given by: Head of the Siedlce Marshal's Office Mrs. Magdalena Sałata, Deputy Mayor of Siedlce Mr. Dariusz Stopa, Mayor of the Siedlce Commune Mr. Henryk Brodowski and Deputy Head of the Joint Secretariat of the Interreg NEXT Poland-Ukraine 2021-2027 Program Mr. Tomasz Jędrzejewski. President of the Water Supply and Sewage Company Ltd in Siedlce Mr. Dariusz Kierzkowski presented the IFSynergy project, describing its goals, assumptions and state of advancement.
The main objective of the project is to improve the water supply monitoring and management system in Siedlce, so that it is modern, reliable and technologically efficient. In particular, the project provides for the construction of water supply networks and the purchase and installation of new devices with monitoring and control systems that will allow:
- reduce water losses;
- ensure the reliability of supplies and the required quality of drinking water for residents;
- improve communication services for the population through innovative solutions, such as GIS systems, new methods of access and payment.
The aim of the project is also to raise the ecological awareness of residents in the field of rational use of water resources, with particular emphasis on providing high-quality services to people with disabilities.
The project activities include:
- modernization of the Sekuła I water treatment plant in Siedlce and 40 water pumping stations in Ivano-Frankivsk;
- installation of modern devices for pressure control, monitoring, management and analysis of water quality;
- exchange of experiences between specialists from both cities and professional development of employees;
- training activities aimed at ecological education of residents.
The IFSynergy project was selected in a competitive procedure for funding under the Interreg Next Poland-Ukraine 2021-2027 program and started on September 1, 2024. The project duration is 24 months. The total project budget is 1603 384,50 EUR . The Water Supply and Sewerage Company in Siedlce (Poland) acted as the Lead Partner, and the Executive Committee of Ivano-Frankivsk City Council joined as a project partner. The budget of the Water Supply and Sewage Company Ltd in Siedlce is EUR 1002 033,34, including funding of EUR 901 830.
