#IFSynergy A colourless and odourless liquid... Children explore the secrets of water
On 5 November, the second educational workshop was held at the Municipal Children's Environmental Station as part of the project “IFSynergy - Cross-border cooperation in SMART management of water supply systems in Siedlce and Ivano-Frankivsk”, implemented under the Interreg NEXT Poland–Ukraine 2021–2027 programme.
The event was attended by 3rd grade pupils from the First Swallow Lyceum, who explored the properties of water, its role in human life and nature, and discussed why every drop should be saved.
During interactive experiments, the children found out how much water there is on the planet and what proportion of it is suitable for drinking, observed the properties of water - transparency, lack of smell and taste, ability to dissolve substances and flow. In a mini-research project called “Water under a microscope,” they compared clean and polluted water, drawing their own conclusions about the importance of preserving it.
While watching the video “The Effect of Music on Water,” the children reflected on how good feelings and a caring attitude can change not only people but also the world around them. At the end of the lesson, in the creative part “Water in My Life,” the young participants drew their associations with water - a river, rain, sea, or tear - sharing their own vision of the beauty and power of this natural element.
In summary, during the exercise “A Drop of Goodness,” the pupils expressed why water is so important and how everyone can save it in their daily lives.
