#IFSynergy Workshop No. 2 for HOA Managers. H2O: The Code of Life and a New Perspective on Water Resources
On April 23, 2026, the second workshop for HOA managers was held as part of the project “IFSynergy – Cross-Border Cooperation in SMART Water Supply System Management in the Cities of Ivano-Frankivsk and Siedlce”, implemented under the Interreg Next Poland-Ukraine programme. The event brought together active managers and residents to discuss responsible water use and current challenges in the water supply sector.
During the meeting, participants explored the importance of water as a vital resource for life and urban development, as well as the need to rethink how we use it. Special attention was given to the concept of the water footprint, which helps us understand how much water we actually consume daily—even beyond what we directly see. The discussion also covered the idea of “virtual water”, its role in the economy, and global challenges related to the distribution of water resources.
A separate session focused on the activities of the municipal enterprise “Ivano-Frankivskvodotekhprom”, including water quality, supply and wastewater management, as well as the key challenges faced by the utility in 2026. Participants learned more about how water safety is ensured and what measures are taken to maintain environmental balance.
In the second part of the workshop, the focus shifted to transforming the perception of water — from an unlimited resource to a valuable asset. Participants discussed where water losses occur, explored practical solutions for households and businesses, and were introduced to the concept of grey water and its reuse.
The event concluded with an engaging discussion, key takeaways, and a Q&A session. Participants once again emphasized that rational water use is not a trend, but a necessity that starts with each of us.
