#INSPIRE The INSPIRE project is launching in Ivano-Frankivsk!
On 17 July, a kick-off press conference was held in Ivano-Frankivsk for the international project “INSPIRE - Inclusive and Nurturing Spaces for Progressive, Innovative, and Responsive Education”, which is being implemented as part of the Interreg NEXT Romania-Ukraine 2021-2027 programme.
Welcome speeches were delivered by Ruslan Martsinkiv - Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, Cezar Grozavu - Executive Director of the Regional Office for Cross-Border Cooperation Romania–Ukraine, Sviatoslav Nykorovych - Deputy Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, and Ihor Popadiuk - Director of the Department of Investment Policy, Projects, International Relations, Tourism and Promotion of Ivano-Frankivsk City Council.
The project was presented by Lidiia Cherevko - Head of the Project Implementation Office, and Halyna Hlushko - Director of the Municipal Enterprise “City Children's Environmental Station”.
The INSPIRE project aims to create an inclusive educational space at the City Children’s Environmental Station. The implementation includes the development of a therapeutic garden designed for learning, recreation, and development through interaction with nature. An outdoor classroom pavilion will also be installed for open-air lessons.
In addition, the project provides for the purchase of a specialized vehicle, a digital chemistry and biology lab, sets of microscope slides, chemical reagents, and other educational equipment. One of the key activities will be the “Ecolandia” event, which will feature four themed scientific stations: a research lab, a creative workshop, an eco-quest, and a gardening station.
A unique feature of the project is the creation of an inclusive outdoor educational environment. The therapeutic garden is a specially designed space that combines rehabilitation and educational functions.
The total budget of the project is EUR 404,141.61, of which EUR 363,727.45 is funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT Romania–Ukraine Programme 2021–2027. The budget allocated for Ivano-Frankivsk is EUR 208,939.10. The project will last 18 months, starting on April 24, 2025.
The lead partner of the project is the Executive Committee of Ivano-Frankivsk City Council. The Romanian partner is the Botoșani County Council.
The INSPIRE project will contribute to the sustainable development of the educational environment, enhance access to extracurricular environmental education, and implement innovative and inclusive approaches for all children.
