#INSPIRE Together for a sustainable future!
As part of the INSPIRE project - Inclusive and Developmental Spaces for Progressive, Innovative, and Adaptive Education, implemented within the Interreg NEXT Romania-Ukraine 2021-2027 program with the support of the European Union, last week, a flash mob “Plant Your Tree” took place simultaneously in Ivano-Frankivsk (Ukraine) and Dorohoi (Romania).
In Ivano-Frankivsk, the event took place at the City Children's Ecological Station. Children and teachers planted a Cedrus Libani, which has long symbolized wisdom, strength, and longevity.
The event brought together several interesting activities for children. Children had the opportunity to watch the puppet show “The Tree of Life,” which used colorful characters to show how important it is to protect the environment and appreciate the nature that surrounds us. During the creative workshop “EcoArt: Shopping Bags with Your Own Hands,” participants made reusable eco-bags, learned about eco-friendly lifestyles, and discussed the role each person plays in keeping the planet clean.
At the same time, in Romania, students from the “Ion Pillat” Special Vocational School in Dorohoi, under the guidance of their teachers, planted a silver fir tree in the school's green area. After that, the children created themed eco-collages and drawings using natural materials, prints, and paints.
Students from Ukraine and Romania proved that even small actions can make a big difference - every tree planted becomes part of a global movement for sustainable development and a clean future. The INSPIRE project aims to create inclusive, safe, and inspiring educational spaces where children learn not only knowledge but also the values of responsibility, cooperation, and respect for nature.
