#InterCities Completion of a series of open lectures for students!
Today, two final lectures were held at the Potocki Palace as part of the project "Intercultural Consciousness of Multinational Cities: Tolerance of New Generations", implemented within the Interreg VI A NEXT Hungary–Slovakia–Romania–Ukraine programme.
Students from Ivano-Frankivsk continued to explore the architectural heritage of their hometown, focusing on the following topics:
- Postmodern heritage in Ivano-Frankivsk - how the architecture of the second half of the XX century reflects the spirit of the time, combining creative exploration and the cultural identity of the city;
- Preservation of architectural and archaeological heritage as a cultural resource of the city (using Ivano-Frankivsk as an example) - why heritage is not only a part of the past, but also an important potential for the development of the community and the city's economy.
Both lectures aroused genuine interest among students - they discussed the value of postmodernist objects, asked questions about the revitalisation of architectural monuments and shared their own ideas for preserving the historical environment.
Such meetings help young people to understand more deeply that cultural heritage is not just old facades, but a living space in which the values, identity and future of the city are formed.
This concluded the series of lectures, but the discussion about heritage, culture and tolerance continues in new ideas, initiatives and projects.
