On July 18, Ivano-Frankivsk hosted the final conference of the project "Research and preservation of Jewish cultural heritage in the border area" (JCulture). The project teams from Ivano-Frankivsk and Sighetu Marmatsia presented the results of the project implementation in Ukraine and Romania to those present, summed up the results of bilateral cooperation and expressed their gratitude to everyone who was involved in the implementation of this project.

The main results of the project in Ivano-Frankivsk are the repair of the drainage of the Synagogue, the installation of lighting, 10 memorial plaques and the creation of a "Jewish" tourist route. In the city of Sziget Marmatsia, project activities were aimed at restoring and expanding the exposition of the Elie Wiesel Memorial House - the Museum of Jewish Culture in Maramureş. In addition, the project drew attention to the importance of studying history and preserving the common cultural heritage of both cities.

The project "Research and preservation of Jewish cultural heritage in the border area" (JCulture) is implemented within the framework of the Cross-border Cooperation Programme of the EIS Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine 2014-2020, financed by the European Union. The responsible partner for the implementation of project activities in Ivano-Frankivsk is the Department of Investment Policy of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council.
