#NEF Why innovations are important for economic development and military economy: panel discussion

      Should we engage in innovation in times of war? Should the government, the community, and grantors support innovation? Will Ivano-Frankivsk be able to emerge from the war economy with a stronger economy? These issues were discussed during one of the panel discussions that took place as part of the European Days of Research and Innovation. The discussion was moderated by Volodymyr Vorobei, head of the PPV economic development agency (Lviv).  The conversation was attended by Svyatoslav Okrepkyi, CEO of Daneya (Intelkom), Bohdan Futerko, Deputy Head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration for Digital Development, Digital Transformation and Digitalisation, Iryna Hryhoruk, researcher, associate professor of management and business administration, PhD in economics, and Yulia Chekalova, dentist, founder of the production company MFT and 119 Dental Clinics.

      Sviatoslav Okrepy shared his experience from the business perspective: "At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the company was not ready to innovate in the areas that were needed. Over time, we realised what we could do differently. We realised that we could produce high-quality plastic and metal products. We started partially launching the production of new components for us. We introduced new processing and calculation methods, etc. We started more large-scale exports abroad.
