#NEF "Developing Resilience: How to Take Care of Yourself and Your Team during the War"
This Wednesday, we held an interesting and informative event called "Developing Resilience: How to Take Care of Yourself and Your Team during the War", to which we invited Natalia Valevska, a certificated trainer in the Community Resilience Model. Natalia shared with us her experience of working with this model, told us many interesting facts about neurobiology, and human resilience in stressful situations, and shared practices aimed at increasing stress resistance and balancing in difficult situations. Below we will share with you these practices and ways to implement them from the speaker. Reading.
Try to scan your body for something that gives you pleasant emotions. It can be a memory, another person, an event, etc. Learn to scan your body and find warm impulses there. Resilience. Resilience is the ability to cope with stress, overcome difficulties, and make difficult decisions. Think about what gives you this ability in difficult moments. Your own resource can be events, a person, fond memories, or photos from childhood. Grounding. Grounding is about paying attention to the contact of the body with the surface that gives you support at this moment. It can be the floor, the ground, or the wall.
This practice helps to calm down and "dump" stress on the support. Instant help. It helps to calm down here and now and switch your attention to something else: look at colors, shapes, textures, the room you are in, count large numbers in your head, etc. Gestures. We pay little attention to the gestures we make unconsciously in different situations. Observe yourself and note what gestures you use in stressful situations. This will allow you to use them consciously in the future and have control over them. During the event, the participants of the lecture were actively involved in practical exercises conducted by the speaker Natalia Valevska to test their effectiveness in practice.
We would like to thank Natalia and all the participants for a great evening and we hope that everyone felt comfortable and informed.
