#ParksMatter Rzeszów’s best practices for sustainable urban greenery management
On April 28–29, an exchange visit took place in Rzeszów as part of the project “City Parks Matter - a new approach to urban greenery management in Ivano-Frankivsk and Rzeszów (ParksMatter)”, implemented under the Interreg NEXT Poland–Ukraine 2021–2027 Programme ????????????????
The agenda was rich in practical activities and experience exchange. On April 28, participants explored approaches to public space management and the practices of the Municipal Greenery Board of Rzeszów. During the interactive simulation workshop “Urban parks: time to rethink”, participants worked on management decisions, analyzed their consequences, and developed sustainable approaches to green space development.
A dedicated part of the program included a walk through Rzeszów’s pocket parks, where participants observed examples of nature-based solutions integrated into the urban environment and discussed their practical application.
On April 29, the focus shifted to exploring the city’s best practices. Participants joined a study tour around Rzeszów, showcasing solutions related to green and blue infrastructure. This provided a deeper understanding of how strategic approaches are implemented in practice and which tools support sustainable urban development
Such exchange visits strengthen cooperation between cities, inspire innovative solutions, and support the adaptation of successful practices to local contexts.
